Scandinavian Society of Radiology
53rd Congress
Panum Institute
Copenhagen
June 2-5, 1998
Dear Friends
In the second century of Röntgen's discovery of the x ray, plain radiography is still the most common medical imaging method and the number of examination in most countries increases at a constant rate although the spectrum and behaviour of diseases remains rather unchanged. At the same time, no medical science has seen such profound changes as radiology and no medical science is as prepared as radiology to move forward in an era of changes. Each major technologic advance require the imager to further refine his or her understanding of both anatomic structure and disease and to learn or relearn the appropriate imaging principles involved. In the process of health care effectiveness and cost/efficacy, the Scandinavian countries has much in common when solving the comprehensive aspects of traditional radiography with related radiation protection, advancing new technology, information and education.
The superior aim of the 53rd Congress of the Scandinavian Society of Radiology is to share with each other specific subjects of radiology in which general diagnostics, advanced technology, evolution and effectiveness are put together as a whole for educational purposes. Each of the Scandinavian countries will present a programme of their own with invited speakers followed by shorter lectures and scientific presentations or short communications related to the subject of the programme for which we call for papers.
Please accept our invitation to attend the 53rd Congress of the Scandinavian Society of Radiology, which will take place in the heart of wonderful Copenhagen with excellent facilities for both the professional activities and a stimulating exhibition.
We look forward to seeing you in Copenhagen in June 2 - 5, 1998.
Yours sincerely
Niels Egund
President
